Our house is situated in the small traditional Spanish village of Molíns at 4 km from the large town of Orihuela, for GPS users on 38°4’51 latitude y 0°54’16’E longitude.
It is situated in the middle of 3 towns, Orihuela, Bigastro and Redován all at about 3 or 4 km from Molíns.
Molíns has 2 banks and 3 bars, a traditional local bar near the church serves food & drinks from early morning until evening with a good selection of tapas.
100 meters away you will find a good restaurant with a daily menu of 9€ all inclusive.
There are also 3 grocery stores, one just around the corner of the house, the lady that runs the store is lovely, sells just about everything except fresh bread and is very helpful.
The 2 bakeries are just a few minutes walk from the house, walking towards the village situated on the left. It is easy to miss as it has no sign up. The bread is good and it is well worth a visit. Open from early in the morning until evening except on Sundays. In the cafeteria you also can buy bread.
Further down the road past the children’s play area is a shop that sells almost anything you could want.
Most shops in Spain open from 10am until 1-2pm and then close for siesta until 5pm then open again until 8-9pm.
Eroski Hypermarket which you passed on your way to Molins (5 minutes drive) sells absolutely all you could want during your stay, open from 10 to 10, closed on Sunday as most shops are except on the coast.
Eroski has a wonderful fresh fish counter and its own bakery. The quiet time to go is 10am or during the siesta.
